How to use our rent receipt templates?

Download and save your template in the preferred folder on your hard drive.

Open your template in excel and update it with your personal information (Name, Address, Logo).

We would recommend to create a standard excel template file (.xlt), so that each time you use your receipt for your new customer, you will be automatically asked to save it as a new file. This will prevent you from loosing the master copy of the template.

Rent Receipt Worksheet 1.

As you have probably noticed already on the first worksheet there are three identical receipts. This will allow you to print your receipt in three copies. You only have to update the top receipt form with your customer and your details by changing all values in the square brackets [...] in cells.

As you start changing the values, you will see that values in the bottom two receipt forms will also be changed to the same ones that you have typed in to the top form accordingly.

1. Date - is set to be updated automatically, but if you need to change it you can delete the formula in the top form only and replace it with the necessary date.

2. Rent receipt number - you can use any numerical values to number your receipts and than keeping track of them. I have never heard about any restrictions or specific regulations about numbering your documents.

3. Amount & Currency - enter your amount and change your currency from dollars to pounds or otherwise, by choosing an appropriate one from the drop down list. Changing the currency will also change the symbol of it automatically.

4. Payment method - type X in the cell if paid by cash or enter the check number or the money order number for the reference of the payment reasons.

5. Name and Address - update the cells with your customer name and address. use additional line below those cells if necessary.

6. Printing your template - print your template on the standard A4 size page.

Rent Receipt Worksheet 2.

The difference with using this receipt is that you have four receipt forms on one page and each form has a rent receipt slip.

Updating this template is very similar to the first one, but instead of the two forms that was automatically updated in the first scenario, updating each form will only update your slip.

Rent Receipt Slip is the part of the receipt that need to be attached to the payment or the invoice for the reference reason.
